RE: Brand new M45 5th gen units - ColinGreene - 05-16-2014 02:34 PM well you have an auto so theres that. RE: Brand new M45 5th gen units - cct1 - 05-16-2014 03:53 PM TVS is a straightforward bolt on, can run off the stock ECU, and the boost isn't anything crazy. What we are waiting for is to see how much can be had safely from the TVS on a stock ECU. Rotrex is a different animal, but the TVS has the potential of significantly adding power without generating a ton of heat and stressing the internals. Kind of like doing what the Sprintex was billed to do without blowing stuff up. Wether the price will be worth it is up to the individual. Thing is, with the TVS, you can "dial it down" for the stock ECU, and then you can always eventually go badass with the vipec and boost, and upgrade the internals, somewhere down the road if you choose. RE: Brand new M45 5th gen units - Batrugger - 06-10-2014 08:25 PM Legit guy here, just got my new factory charger today RE: Brand new M45 5th gen units - ColinGreene - 06-10-2014 09:12 PM Cool! RE: Brand new M45 5th gen units - Batrugger - 06-11-2014 05:19 PM The cool thing about buying this charger is there is no core charge. I am trading mine for $400 of paint work, but all of these re-builders charge a $500 core. You may not be able to get that from them, but I'm sure it is worth some money which makes it even cheaper. RE: Brand new M45 5th gen units - cct1 - 06-11-2014 05:53 PM A rebuild is a band-aid, IMHO...I'm guessing a new one would wind up paying itself off versus a rebuild--might cost more up front, but you're more likely than not going to make it back on the back end.
