RE: TVS Final Prototypes - BlimeyCabrio - 09-11-2015 07:22 AM I think I've been convinced to hold off on my meth install until after I see how the stroker+TVS+FMIC runs without it... both because that would save me the frustration of trying to get past increasingly stringent track day requirements (e.g. build a bulkhead) and reduces weight and complexity. See what temps and power are like without it first, then decide... but it is so sexay.... RE: TVS Final Prototypes - cct1 - 09-11-2015 07:39 AM I was going to do a meth kit as part of the "while it's there" thing, Jan said don't bother, you won't need it, so I'm not. RE: TVS Final Prototypes - BlimeyCabrio - 09-11-2015 07:47 AM Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Diminishing returns. If I find I don't need it, I'll sell my rig, it's brand new. Though you may be running E85 at the track... I won't. I'm sure I'd get SOME benefit from the meth... but just not sure it's worth the hassle, especially if the FMIC is as magical and Jan is promising... (promise might be a little strong, for Jan).... RE: TVS Final Prototypes - cct1 - 09-11-2015 08:25 AM Jan told me not to bother with meth prior to the E85 thing, for what it's worth. You have a aquamist hfs3 right? How is your rebuild coming along... Where you at? Dragon reasons.. RE: TVS Final Prototypes - piston - 09-12-2015 02:57 PM Keep it! You're daft if you sell it at this point. Id install it and have a tune simply for reasons as Colin has stated. Just do quick release compression fittings and such to the pump and tank in the back. It would only take minutes to take out. RE: TVS Final Prototypes - BlimeyCabrio - 09-12-2015 08:12 PM Dragon is a pretty good reason to keep it. Constant hammering without enough speed for optimal FMIC cooling... And yes, I can swap in and out the parts that matter pretty quickly. No compression fittings for me, though. All AN stuff. Still quick, the way I plumb it. |
