I am tired of squinting at night. -.- Who has their dimmer wire hooked up and where did you tap in?

Look at alta's boost gauge install pdf... you can tap it to the illumination wire for the DSC/Sport button area. I believe its the illumination for the ring around the cig light which turns on when the lights do.

Well I can now say with certainty that wire will not work. Undecided It dims with the gauses an gives "unexpected results". As in when you dim the dash the Aquamist gauge gets brighter.

I need a wire that gets 12volts when the lights are turned on.

haha really?? FAIL! dammit.
(at least you can't take 'thanks' back.... lol jk)

umm, thats odd.... did you tap it right at a location before the unit? The dimmer changes the voltage or resistance i'm sure, which is probably why it does the opposite on the gauge... as its a dimmer switch, so it looks for voltage, and once there is voltage, its telling the gauge hey the lights are on, dim the display. But if you dim the dash, and it provides less voltage, it tells the gauge 'hey, the lights aren't "as" on as before, so dim it less'. So if you have the dash brightness all the way up, then the gauge is really dim? =\

Not really something you want to debate with me.
