So this maybe answered early in the thread or somewhere else.

But how well is the GP Intercooler expected to cool the air from the larger TVS?

Are you going to be able to reach power potential with the TMIC or will it need to go Air to Water or FMIC?

My thoughts are that on the standard pulley, we are not looking at a lot more pressure, but more volume of air, so it should produce cooler, denser air charge temps. The TVS has a considerably larger inlet. This mean the air flow that goes through the inlet will be slower. Slower air flow means less kinetic energy, hence less energy is transformed to heat. Therefore, I don't think the GP, or even the stock intercooler would have a problem on the basic kit.

Early runs were very encouraging from a heat standpoint. We watched inlet air temps drop as we drove... the TVS had no temp buildup in our test runs.
We think that at any boost pressures under 19- 20 PSI the GP intercooler will be acceptable. ... especially with methanol afterwards.. which we have not had on and spraying yet.... still have one more hurdle to clear...

This all sounds superb. Be interesting to see what changes I'd have to make to my FMIC to make this fit...

Jan, I would be very interested to know if/once this has your performance testing approval and how much it costs.

Cool thing about Jan is that he won't sell it short of the parts it needs to be right out of the box, give him time to fully sort it and it will be more than worth the small wait!!!

Right on Dave & Minimark,.....

And that's why I sacrificed my pride and joy for 2 months (so far) of being dismantled for fit up on a car with an almost stock front end.

Glad I have another MINI to drive or I'd be going nuts..... having missed MINI Thunder..... I'm now hoping to have all systems firing for an Easter Sunday track day at which to prove the virtues of the TVS..... and I know we'll need some time between now and the 31st for tuning and testing.

It's been many years since I was in anticipation of a new baby being born but it's almost what I feel like here...........
