I am trying to help Jan find a SoCal machine shop to cut his prototype manifolds and having a bitch of a time doing it. He has the MasterCAM generated CNC programs and they are well documented with Comments and don't use any special tools, just off the shelf stuff. But he has no prints or a solid model and many shops reject the job because of that. The usual shop he uses to do parts like this are too busy.

The job requires a CNC Machine with at least 20" of travel in X and 10" in Y with a 4th axis capability using a trunnion table, like a Haas VF-2 or a small Fadal or an old Mori MV-40. So if anybody knows a shop that is willing to take on this type of a job, please PM Jan.

Craig

When i tried to open it nothing worked, your going to have to use that hacked up one as a proto type.
Its finantially not responsible for a shop to do low volume of a part like that.

Colin -
There is nothing wrong or funky with those CNC programs. They opened up fine and backplotted correctly in our software. You just really need a 4th axis positioning capability and the one SoCal customer I have that does prototype work exclusively does not have that capability. So I am still looking.
