S10 Slave/ Short shifters. - ColinGreene - 10-09-2013 02:00 AM Alright, I have my design finalized. I wanted to get some feed back before i went to sales with this product. First I would like to know who all would be interested in this price non withstanding. I need to get feedback as far as what buyers are looking for so i can provide a accurate price. so far Ballpark slightly less than 100. Would you prefer a full drop in kit with slave line and factory line ready to drop in or would you prefer to get your own slave from the parts store and flare your own existing line. Obviously the first one is more expensive but thats what I am leaning twords. I don't really figure most have the tools to flare their own lines in car properly. Keep in mind the way I have set this kit ups to use -3 AN aircraft hose and all coated steel fittings with a Cast Iron slave with pushrod rather than the factory plastic pile of junk. Since when you jump on the clutch your pressure will be directed into a steel slave you will have a more crisp clutch engagement and it will also tolerate higher pressure after-market clutch loads also ultimately if the slave should fail in the future it will be a much easier/cheaper/easier to bleed part. Ill have to put some pictures up tomorrow. Also I now have R53/R56 short shifters for 60$ made from 4140 has a light press fit and 6 set screws. Looks like a Helix but is made from higher quality materials and designed especially not to come off. Plus its a smidge shorter of a shift than the helix with a refined Motion ratio so it actually feels a great deal more crisp. RE: S10 Slave/ Short shifters. - Penis - 10-09-2013 05:05 AM Not yet but I will want one, with the pre flared lines. So, the pre-flared line would be nice. RE: S10 Slave/ Short shifters. - myles2go - 10-09-2013 06:36 AM The full drop in kit is preferred. RE: S10 Slave/ Short shifters. - Penis - 10-09-2013 06:38 AM 3 Out of over 1,000,000 1st gen owners say so! From my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: S10 Slave/ Short shifters. - AudioNToxication - 10-09-2013 07:52 AM I'm down for one. Seems like with the other short shift kits in the past you couldn't run the heat shield, is that the same for yours? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 4 RE: S10 Slave/ Short shifters. - Hooptie64 - 10-09-2013 08:53 AM How is the bleeding set up on your slave cylinder? If I am thinking of the correct part that failed on me a few years ago, the bleeder valve was on the bottom (instead of the top where the bubbles float up to) and was a pain in the ass to get right. If I pulled the trigger, it would be for a full blown kit. I'd get a short shifter as soon as they are available. RE: S10 Slave/ Short shifters. - ColinGreene - 10-09-2013 10:33 AM Ok, Great to hear. thats what I was thinking. Ill get some pictures of a full kit together to show you what it all looks like as far as fit and where the bleeder is. and no if you run the short shifter the heat sheild stays. Id never ever run it without one. |
