2006 GP Mini - AJchaingun - 02-07-2016 09:19 PM

Looking for a GP mini. I am not sure what an acceptable price is for one. I've seen it range from 30k miles for $28k to 70k miles for $15k. Any advice here would help.

Depends on what you want to do with it

For now, just drive it on occasion until I can afford an engine and tvs kit.

And I remember the days on MF when everyone said they were going to appreciate over time...

I saw the Santa Monica one. I'd have to figure out how to get it all the way to Norfolk,VA. I don't know if I could get the time off to go and see it. I think it could be shipped for about a grand not sure. There is also one down in Florida I found on autotrader for about the same price more mileage though. I messaged the guy for more pictures and info. He got an attitude so he's probably not an option. You jest about value, there are some dealers over here that are trying to sell them with 20k miles for almost $30k.

They won't get that for them, unless they get very lucky.

Unfortunately It's going to cost more than a thousand to ship it, at least by a good company. And you don't want a shitty company. More like 1,500 to 2,000. And if you go covered, it gets really pricey, you can pretty much double that.

Now if you could get someone to drive it to the dragon for you....

What happened to that Russian guy you used Chris?

RE: 2006 GP Mini - cct1 - 02-08-2016 09:07 PM

Probably stealing candy from little kids. Actually, he was a super nice guy, even if he was scarier than all hell, bad teeth and a somewhat misshapen head, kind of like a pumpkin that has been lying on its side too long. I wish I had a video of when Jan's wife got the car from him, had to be priceless. Someone needs to find him and cast him in a Russian gangster movie...

I can get that companie's name, I have it somewhere; the base company was recommended by Jan, they find a truck/driver/company that they've vetted on your schedule.

It was open transport though, you might want to go closed depending on time of year. I may go closed on the trip back depending on time of year having heard from Owen/Jan what the car looked like once it got there. Car needed to be cleaned up before Owen could touch it anyway (bunch of rubber marks from the track everywhere), but with the road salt, I hear it REALLY needs to be cleaned up.

You can't simply cover the car with a car cover and transport it open; the cover will tear the shit out of the paint, you need a fully enclosed truck if you want the car back clean.
