RE: Vipec pre-order signup!
My vipec controlled car is getting better than stock ecu milage. However that's likely because my car has a radical cam.

I have a mileage question for the experts. For no reason that I can figure out yet, my car seems to be getting much better MPG when the temps are below 32F on my short drive to work recently. I have to fill up to double check, but my average on the trip computer has always been 20mpg after the 4 miles or so, and this is what the fillups confirm. This last week, the same ride is showing me 25mpg, even 26 late last night for the same trip. This could easily be some computer glitch, but if not the only thing I have changed in the equation seems to be ambient temp. Just wondering if this makes any sort of sense. 9 out of the 10 voices in my head are telling me to "Floor it!"

RE: Vipec pre-order signup!
If you fill up before sunrise, you get a bit more fuel technically, as fuel is in a denser state due to the low temperature. It doesn't make a huge difference, but there perhaps a percentage or two extra.
Might be the same thing that applies to your higher mileage? |

RE: Vipec pre-order signup!
Fuel and air are a little more dense. This gives better MPG....If it gets to dense it will kill your gas mileage, I was getting 12mpg yesterday on my way to town from the rig in my truck because it was -21. I get 16mpg for the most part when its a little warmer out.

For everybody that bought a VIPEC.
If you do not have a WIDEBAND. Amazon has a deal on the innovate MTX-L all in one setup. $168 bucks for a wideband. Thats a Killer deal. I run the older XD-16 and LC-1 setup on my EVO and I love it. http://www.amazon.com/Innovate-Motorspor...ef=lh_ni_t |

RE: Vipec pre-order signup!
Can you buy JUST the wideband without the gauge, have it run into the ViPEC and then use your own software to display it?

RE: Vipec pre-order signup!
Not the MTX-L its a all in one. You could try to find a LC-1...I think they discontinued them though.
I like to have the gauge though for monitoring when I dont have the laptop hooked up. |
