RE: TVS900 Basics
I once saw Autoxcooper tell a a customer the TSW engine damper was the equivalent of adding 10 HP to the car (ironically it was at Jan's tuning event at Lake Villa a LONG time ago). I told Jeff at TSW about this, who was none too pleased.

The worst part was that they installed it, and the guy came back during the afternoon and said, "yep, it added 10 hp at least!"

Now, we could see before and after of the engine moving in the bay pre and post damper, and yes, it did decrease engine slop, but to sell it as a HP booster....Yikes.

Re: TVS900 Basics
BEWARE who does your M45 rebuild. A friend has had his worked on twice by a company and it made one lap a VIR before seizing up the first time, he sent it back, paid them more money, he just made about 6 laps at VIR before it failed again.

Hopefully he will be sharing the experience on the boards soon. I don't want to mention the name here for obvious reasons but it was not the one mentioned above. It was a company that is used by a prominent vendor.

RE: TVS900 Basics
My concern is not about trusting Auto X Cross MINI or not. As I would like to keep my MINI for atleast the 8years, I am looking the cost effective between two solutions: 1-Rebuilt the current M45, 2-Upgrade the M45 for the R900. Also, I am looking the advantages about R900 over the M45 beside the cost effective. I mean, if Eaton dished the GenV of their superchargers for their TVS, why should I consider to rebuilt an obsolete product that Eaton doesn't support anymore. Plus, we have to beware who offers the rebuilt service. I just don't want to spend money for a 1st solution and then realize I have to spend more to do it right. Smile

RE: TVS900 Basics
There is a reputable guy who rebuilds Eaton's in either Racine or Sheboygan, can't remember which.

Regardless, I have to think your support is going to be better with Jan and the TVS than any rebuild. When the time comes, I'll go with either the TVS or something even gnarlier, but the car is so good as it is, I'm in no hurry.

That's a good point in favor for the R900. I trust Jan for support more than [PutAnyMINIVendorNamesHereWhoSupportBytetronic/Sprintex] and also Eaton full supports their current TVS generation. Smile

Whoa there buddy... Are you telling me that other vendors dont come with any kind of support? Bytetronik and sprintex if fully supported by your own wallet. If it malfunctions in any way, you are accountable to pay for everything! Its kind of a win win situation really... You get new parts, and at the same time your wallet gets a lot lighter! Think of it as a weight reduction.
