I think you have a 56....

Ideally you want it just after the intercooler. This allows the most amount of time for the mist to be vaporized and heat to be absorbed from the intake tract. It will also allow the T-MAP to see the cooler temps and the ECU should adjust timing accordingly. I actually have mine just after the MAP sensor, up closer to the throttle body/intake manifold....just because install wise, it was the easiest to do. Even where I have mine...the results have been awesome. Even though you are getting less intake air cooling, you are still getting maximum combustion chamber cooling and increased octane.

That said, I do plan on moving it further down to test the difference...but just have not had a chance to take out the pipe and drill it.

Is the HFS-6 necessary on any level for an R53 running about 15-20pis of boost?

The extra safety features and programmability it offers seems nice, but the pump is just complete overkill correct?

I haven't understood if the aquamist kit should be always on when the engine is running, or if I can use a "nitrous oxide-type" button to activate the h20/meth injection....
What is recommended?

I believe always running the water meth is the best idea as you can then optimise your tune to take advantage of the extra cooling meaning you can push it higher. Of course this also means that if you run out of water/meth you may run into bother.

There is not much difference in using the 3 or 6 on the MINI. The 3 is easier to configure, and you can't get the 6 anymore. lol.

The system will activate by IDC or a boost setting, so it will not run during light driving. There is also an ON/OFF button on the gauge to turn it off. But depending on how the car is tuned you may need to re-flash the ECU.

In my setup I plan on never touching it or "turning it off" so Im assuming Jans tune will "know" there is no mist in low boost situations?

I have a stock fmic, so I haven't seen the piping setup after the IC. Afaik it's all rubber tubing and no hard pipe locations to mount. Also wondering if I can mount here from under the car without removing thr bumper..

Jeff, do u have the silicone install adapter in stock? I'll be wanting one almost positive.

Yes, in stock. I plan to have a 56 in week after next and we'll poke around to see what options there are.
