Our run group yesterday was only 3 or 4 cars so there wasn't much close running with other cars and it was like having the track for a private test day. Plus, once we gathered Jans data we became shepards and got the flock outta there..... damn it was hot. Wolfman Dan GP#0936 with lots of mods and GP#1827 with none ..

I have two bad M45's on my hands now, one in the car squealing like a stuck pig. I was hoping the TVS might be a solution if i wasnt priced out of it but when it went to 8 ribs for her pleasure my dreams died. :-(... |

The TVS is still spinning too slow to give the boost numbers Jan wants plus the meth is disabled and there was no time to get interim numbers before yesterday. Belt slippage seems to be cured however. It'll probably go on the dyno when the new S/C nose goes on. GP#0936 with lots of mods and GP#1827 with none ..

RE: TVS900 Basics
Dan and Jan are impressed by the IATs, so I assume they are quite a bit less than an M45?
Dan - have you been using the TVS as your daily driver? *Placeholder* for an X-1 Pic |

Plus, we've had the front end off and back on enough that we haven't re-charged the A-C even though it's all there. When the new nose piece is ready the front end will come off again to install it. I drive a pickup truck all week as I need it for work cargo so I've never used either car as a daily driver... but, the TVS car has 65,000 miles on an original lower end and clutch and still works and feels like new. We were pulling it to 7,500 RPM and above yesterday and it still liked it. The 8-groove belt set-up is sweet. Much better than the original and it has a bottom mounted manually adjusted tensioner. Much more positive. It's gettin' good... GP#0936 with lots of mods and GP#1827 with none ..

RE: TVS900 Basics
How is it driving? I know it's not optimized, but how is it pulling through the RPM band?
Can't wait to see the dyno... I'll buy a you a beer or three if you make one run without meth (Eventually I'll run 50/50, but I doubt I'll go full 100. I'll probably change my mind on that though). Ok, I'd buy you one anyway, but bribery never hurts. Great to see it all coming together. I'm probably a year and a half away from it, your car is almost identical to mine, so I get to live vicariously for the time being. The only good F56 is a dead F56

(07-15-2013 06:55 PM)cct1 Wrote: How is it driving? I know it's not optimized, but how is it pulling through the RPM band?Chris, The car drives fine and pulls good all the way to redline. I still think it will come on sooner when we get the right pulley combo on. I'd like more low end (2,500 to 3,000 RPM) torque. As it is it pulls great from 4,500 up. I'm confused about your meth statement. You have an Aquamist installed and running, right? If so, what are you running in it.. water? You say you'll eventually run 50/50... I started out with 50/50 and because of the hassle of pre-mixing and the better performance I just went with straight meth. I'll leave it up to Jan regarding doing meth vs. no meth pulls on the dyno. When we first installed it I noticed more "real world" performance than dyno numbers. I think it only added about 4 or 5 HP on the dyno but you could feel more grunt, especially in hot weather with it spraying. We'll keep you posted. GP#0936 with lots of mods and GP#1827 with none ..

RE: TVS900 Basics
Sounds like its coming together nicely.
(Off-Topic) Chris, I used to run 50/50, but now I run 2:1 (2 parts meth, 1 part water - super easy to mix). 50/50 is too much water for the mini since the spark isn't strong enough, throttle response was much better with 2:1 Joe 2006 MCS Space Blue Checkmate |
