TVS Final Prototypes
So hey Jan what is your best guess at this point?
1. Max boost for a stock engine?
2. Max boost for an RMW built engine? And yes I know there are various levels of build.

RE: TVS Final Prototypes
Is Dan's motor built? I wouldn't be opposed to some bottom-end work. But I want to see where this kit ends up. Looking forward to results, Jan Smile

RE: TVS Final Prototypes
Read the thread--Dan's goal has always been stock bottom end, stock ECU, although he will run meth--it's a real world situation that is relatively attainable with minimum fuss, which is why so many are interested in the first place. At the boost he's planning at running it, stock internals should be golden.

At the boost Jan is capable of running it, with the Vipec, I'm willing to wager large sums of money that the internals will need to be upgraded. But the beauty lies in the fact that you can bolt the TVS on with the stock ECU at lower boost and have a beast, and eventually take it a step further if you ever desire, if I've been following this correctly.

RE: TVS Final Prototypes
Got to drive Dan's car today a bit up and down the street and it pulls awesome!!! From 3,000 to 7,000, it pulls as well as my Rotrex. But it still has the Vipec on it and when it hit 22 psi, it fell on its face, kind of like the car threw up!! But if you don't overboost it, it gets to 100 MPH pretty quick!!

He still has an issue with the tensioner bearing, it was squeaking pretty good at idle. Dan thinks he should go to a wider bearing to better distribute the load and I think that is the way to go.

Jan wants to get a dyno number with the present setup before they increase either the S/C or crank pulley size to bring the boost down into the 18 psi range and go back to the stock ECU. Any more than that will probably require a built motor or at least different pistons.

The future looks very bright!!
