With a sad heart I will be out of the office
my father is going to probably within a week. His bladder cancer has taken it's toll and it appears his kidneys are shutting down. I am flying out in the morning to be with him. I'll check in to let everyone know what's going on. At least the pain will finally stop.

My condolences Jan. It is toughest on those left behind. Help them all concentrate on and remember the good times and forget the rest.

Sorry to hear about your dad, it is good you can be with him. I lost my father to cancer about a year ago. He was given less than a year when diagnosed; it was 5 years later before he gave up the fight. He was a tough old bird, I learned a lot from him, and I miss him.

Jan, so sorry to hear--glad you're getting back home. Renal failure is painless, for someone who has been through so much, although it doesn't seem that way, Dan is absolutely right about some things being a blessing. Peace to your father and your family; you've all done everything right-- I know it's no consolation, nothing any of says makes it easier, but there is a right way to deal with this, and you all have done it the right way.
