The restrictor could be cutting the overall flow a bit, you could try a bigger jet OR remove the restrictor. I'd try the latter first, then up the jet as needed. 75% should be good, but in a real humid environment, the water is just a knock suppressor, it won't add to the cooling.
Also, The IDC profile of these cars is funky compared to normal, turning the gain up to about 1 o'clock on the dial and see what happens. |

I just checked and the "thres" dial is all the way to the left, I never toughed it. I will remove the flow restrictor and see what happens. I was going to run 100% Meth but since I still had water in the tanks from priming the pump I just mixed it.

How early is it coming on during throttle application if it's full left? Usually 10 o'clock or so is typical, Sil's is still at noon.

It is coming on pretty early, may need to drive a bit more to tell exactly when.
I removed the flow restrictor from the FAV and the car feels much better. |

yes, threshold is all the counter-clockwise, at that setting if you press the gas pedal about 1/4 you see the meth guage spike up and seems about 1/2 throttle and I'm flowing 100%. I will move that up to middle setting tomarrow to see how it feels now that the restrictor is removed. I'm sure the ECU is still adjusting to the meth.

One thing that I just remembered is that Jeff said the car would run a little crappy initially because during the install testing the lines have 100% water in them and it takes awhile for it to all flow through. I think you're right about the ECU needing to adjust for the meth because it wasn't until the next day or so before I really felt the car was liking it.

One thing to remember, the gauge is not an absolute measurement. It was never designed to do so. For example, if you have a 400cc jet in the car, and you set the gauge to 6 of 8 bars at 100% flow in test, each bar will not be 66.6cc. The spin up of the turbine, and the mapping of the turbine signal both skew the ramp up of the unit. It will ramp up faster in the lower IDC region than it moves in the upper. The reason for this is it makes the failsafe more effective on the bottom end of the scale. So when one sets up the gauge properly and has the wastegate cut hooked up, the onset of a plugged jet is caught quicker.
So the gauge will appear to ramp up to the middle region very quickly, then build to the max flow settings. |

I'm a little shocked that you can't really tell a difference...? Wasn't the case for me at all....but even if it wasn't as big of a power adder as I think it is, it's still worth every penny for the safety it provides. I'm sure the gains are definitely more dramatic the more heat you are dealing with. The bigger turbo I have, running 20+ psi, with the relatively high compression, and dry 105+ ambient temps....might make for a little different situation than some other folks. Just speculating....
Definitely turn the threshold up though, if you have it all the way to the left it must literally be coming on all the time? Mine is just left of 12 o clock...I think you'll find that point a perfect spot for it, kicks in right when you need it as boost ramps up. Continue to play with the settings, play with jet sizes, play with meth concentration....its definitely not a one size fits all deal.
