It was coming down the cold side tube and pooling in the outlet of the IC. So much that it was leaking out at the connection (and the connection was on tightly) and was everywhere around there. The two times I have had the IC off before....this was not an issue. Only thing different taking it off this time was the water/meth kit. I could not for the life of me figure out why the cold side should have that much oil in it. I understand oil collects in the IC, but that is generally from blowby and pools on the hot/inlet side. (mine had a normal amount on that side, nothing too dramatic though) I didn't get good pics, but here are two I snapped: ![]() If you look you can see a big old drop of oil coming out the tube. The entire area in there was covered in oil. ![]() You can see where it was all over the IC...this was after wiping it off. The shear amount of oil coming down the cold tube was shocking to me. The only thing I could think of was that the normal pcv vapor that goes through the FMIC and then through that tube during boost was essentially being washed down the walls of the tube from the water/meth and just would collect down at the outlet. 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW GP (R53)--GP #1599 -RMW FUNstick Cam, RMW Shorty Header, RMW 450cc inj 2014 MINI Cooper (F56)--Midnight Black |
