The pump does make a humming sound while running. With such a low flow it may make a clicking sound which is the bypass running. The more it flows the less the bypass works so the clicking is less. The pump will flow 2200cc, when only 200 is used, there is a lot to bypass.
There could be air stuck in the pump which will make it louder. One can pull the hose from the inlet of the FAV and put in test to purge the air our. It may take a few 20 second cycles to get the air out. "When everything works, it's a sheer joy to drive." - Jeremy Clarkson
