Down in South America they can't get methanol, but have an abundance of ethanol, while not quite as good, it is still better than anything else.

The water meth mix in general isn't bad, but the MINI ignition system isn't strong enough to light off a lot of water, so too much and misfires will occur.

So basically it's usable but not preferred. Good enough for me but I'll have to ask around to get some pure meth at some point. I have one more question if you don't mind. Is the system capable of manual shut downs? I mean, is it possible to shut down the system and use the car like the WMI system doesn't exist? I read somewhere that it'll put the ECU into the limp mode but wanted to get the exact answer from the source..

Other than the tune you have on the ECU, yes. There is a button on the face of the gauge which turns the system ON/OFF. On the 53 with stock ECU you would need to change your tune, on a standalone, it should switch automatically. On the 56, it depends if you have the wastegate tied in for safety, but you can configure the controller to be invisible at that point as well. The 56 to a certain degree will auto adjust the fueling, but excessive boost could be an issue.
