RE: Forge or GTT Alloy Header Tank ?
I have the canton on my car. It seems expensive at first glance, but those factory ones last such a short time eventually you spend the same amount on them. I notice they sell 30 lb caps which might seem high, but I think I ended up with a 25lb cap as the others would pop all the time. Maybe it is a 30lber, but it sure isn't 14 or any old school pressure.
That's why the factory ones leak, it is a lot of pressure in there. Designed to fail without much (or any) margin for error. The tank gets super hot which in-turn cook's the coolant.I never thought of that, but to be fair, I hardly ever get stuck in traffic. It would seem to me that you should be able to insulate the thing to make it comparable to stock as far as thermal properties go. They have such good high tech stuff these days. Even if you just did the bottom (which shouldn't effect looks) you should gain a lot of ground temps wise. 9 out of the 10 voices in my head are telling me to "Floor it!"
