But he said the inlet side of the IC was oil, just the outlet had some water mixed in. I'm guessing the line might have dripped some from the jet probably after shutoff of the car. I'd be interested to get some feedback from everyone on what they are seeing, if they have catch cans installed minimizing oil etc. This is why Jeff kicks ass. I sent him my first email about this a mere 30 min ago and we have already went back and forth with several emails. It's SATURDAY NIGHT! Amazing, thanks Jeff. It was coming down the cold side tube and pooling in the outlet of the IC. So much that it was leaking out at the connection (and the connection was on tightly) and was everywhere around there. The two times I have had the IC off before....this was not an issue. Only thing different taking it off this time was the water/meth kit. I could not for the life of me figure out why the cold side should have that much oil in it. I understand oil collects in the IC, but that is generally from blowby and pools on the hot/inlet side. (mine had a normal amount on that side, nothing too dramatic though) I didn't get good pics, but here are two I snapped: If you look you can see a big old drop of oil coming out the tube. The entire area in there was covered in oil. You can see where it was all over the IC...this was after wiping it off. The shear amount of oil coming down the cold tube was shocking to me. The only thing I could think of was that the normal pcv vapor that goes through the FMIC and then through that tube during boost was essentially being washed down the walls of the tube from the water/meth and just would collect down at the outlet. 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW GP (R53)--GP #1599 -RMW FUNstick Cam, RMW Shorty Header, RMW 450cc inj 2014 MINI Cooper (F56)--Midnight Black |

I was going to go check mine but I am runnig 100% Meth so I doubt I would have any build up. I hd no oil when I installed it. I run a CC.

If you also didn't see this before the wm then maybe it is a fact of the hose after the fav slowly leaking after the engine is off. We are looking at maybe adding a check valve at the nozzle to stop this... Wonder why mine was milky then and yours was just oily.... This is bothersome

Sure but methanol is still a fluid, and while it will evap over time, it could still be dripping. How do you have your catch can setup? Could you show some pics of connection points and such? I can't picture what type of check valve would help your problem. Maybe your FAV has debris in it and is leaking.

Also, the car was always slow to turn over when starting up recently after I had driven and the water/meth had been spraying. If all of this crap was pooling both down by the IC and up by the throttle body and manifold....that could have been why.... 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW GP (R53)--GP #1599 -RMW FUNstick Cam, RMW Shorty Header, RMW 450cc inj 2014 MINI Cooper (F56)--Midnight Black |

Fav is supposed to be mounted as close to the jet as possible. The fav isn't leaking. There is water left in the hose between the fav and nozzle after the car is off, which may be what is leaking. A check valve at the nozzle stops this extra water between the fav and nozzle from leaking out of the nozzle. RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
I'm not sure if this adds any usefulness, but reading Erik's last post about a possible slow leak after the engine is off made me think of it. On occasion when I turn the engine off, go do something for an hour, then come back and start driving away I have a noticeable stumble / hesitation in 1st gear that feels worse if I stay in 1st and apply more throttle. After shifting to 2nd the "stumbling" goes away and everything is fine. It doesn't happen all the time. Sorry if this is a red herring.
