I have fully installed my system at last Smile

Problem is... when the pump activates it sounds like a large compressor running in the back of the car and is VERY noticeable, is this normal?
I'll record if anyone needs to hear but it definitely sounds wrong, jet pattern etc looks good, no leaks, all is working great thanks to Jeff - unreal service!

If I can get this sorted then i'm good,

I need to work out my jet size, I have 330cc injectors at the moment (early JCW) and my brother has 380cc (later JCW) if I work out the flow rate and boost pressure and compare it against the chart on Jeff's site then I get (100% water for the moment):

inj size * 4 total * 100% water total * losses total flow
330 * 4 = 1320 * 0.10 = 132 * 1.1 = 145.2
330 * 4 = 1320 * 0.15 = 198 * 1.1 = 217.8

217.8cc flow for the 330cc injectors with 13-15psi boost is a 0.4mm injector, I thought the smallest an R53 would need is 0.6mm?

For the 380cc injectors it works out as 250.8cc = 0.5mm jet...

Am I doing something wrong here?

Your calculations are right. It's not typical to run 100% water on the 53, which requires smaller jetting than other fluids. If you are goin to stick with that setup, we can swap out a few jets for you. At this point with 100% water you may find you are losing power on your setup. You will need to significantly change the tune to make the water work.

Okay cool, I am just running with 100% water while I wait for my meth to arrive, I ordered 5L of 99.9% - is that okay or do I need 99.99%?

And the main thing I am worried about is the noise, it really is very loud (80-90dB) no hose blockages or holes..

The pump does make a humming sound while running. With such a low flow it may make a clicking sound which is the bypass running. The more it flows the less the bypass works so the clicking is less. The pump will flow 2200cc, when only 200 is used, there is a lot to bypass.

There could be air stuck in the pump which will make it louder. One can pull the hose from the inlet of the FAV and put in test to purge the air our. It may take a few 20 second cycles to get the air out.

Okay cool thanks Jeff, must just be the low flow rates then... Think i'll just leave the bung in until the meth arrives, is 99.85-99.9% meth okay to use?

I had a rattle snake noise from the fluid line out of the pump vibrating aginst the tank. quick fix was an old sock vibratition damping the line. I later used a nylon tie wrap block to stop the vibration. I can now only hear short noise from the pump as I shut the car off.

I am not sure. I will have to test that.

Under normal use I don't hear anything from the pump. Just when I turn the car off it makes a short dadadat sound.

etalj was discussing this with me as he stated his was doing the same. This happens when the two power sources power down at different times. Basically, the fuel injector power is on a second longer than the fuse power.

The red wire of the gray connector is what arms the entire system, if it goes off first, or at the same time as the red control power all is fine. If the red wire of the gray connector is on longer than the molex power, then the systems master relay is held on while the power/ground reference of the molex is lost. This is triggering the pump relay for a split second.

The long and short is, we may need to find a different fuse to pull power from. etalj was pulling power from the cigarette lighter, and while not the best power source for the system, didn't have this power issue. I don't remember Sil88 car doing this( my memory could be wrong) when we installed it so I can't tell what maybe different on the other installs.

We will try to get this sorted as soon as we can get some feedback.
