2003 Mini Cooper (R50) w/R53 Swap ****SOLD****
Hello Fellow Mini Enthusiasts,
It is with great sadness that I type this... I have up for sale my 2003 Mini Cooper R50 with a 2002 R53 swap. Unfortunately life has funny ways of making you sacrifice your hobbies. However, I know that it is time to let her go and maybe someday a new project will come about Sort of Brief Background... I am the original owner of this car so anything and everything that has happened to it to this day is all recorded in my brain This MINI started as an R50... due to some known issues with the ol' school Midland Transmissions blowin out and awesome BMW not covering the issues, I took a plunge and purchased an R53 Engine and Trans for $2500... Let me tell you it was one hell of a project. Loads of wrench time and loads of coffee... but it was worth it. Since the swap, I was hungry for more... MORE POWER!! So i began to slowly do some upgrades, getting it fine tuned and really enjoying my car... my car wasnt always a looker but it sure had character, that alone made heads turn My MINI has not seen the track with this engine and trans (R53), it has only seen quite a bit of dyno's and where i work lol. This is my daily commuter, mainly sees freeway mileage. Currently it has 96k Miles, i got the motor with 45k miles according to seller, which was exactly what i had on my previous R50. It was recently repainted to make it look all nice again Just so you are aware, the passenger side curtain and rear air bag was deployed one night when i hit a pot-hole, pretty random if you ask me... i did NOT replace those airbags so the light is still on, however, i did have the liner re-done to make it look nice inside. Driver side airbags as well as both front airbags are still intact (who needs curtains anyway!! jk). So now the list O' Goodies .... this is what i currently have on the car and at what mileage it was done roughly: -2002 Mini Cooper S Engine 6spd (@45k) - $2500 -Ultrik Short Shifter Adapter -RMW Race Header (@85k) - $1200 -Borla Exhaust (@30k) - $600 -RMW BVH Jesus Head (@75k) - $2500 -RMW 440CC Injectors (@85k) - $400 -Alta Larger Intercooler (@65k) - $400 -MSD Ignition -Jackson Racing Spark Plug Wires -SPEC Flywheel (@65k...new friction plate @92k)- $400 -SPEC Stage 3 Sprung Kit (@92k) - $370 -Cusco LSD (@85k) - $1200 -Alta 17% Pulley (@65k) - $100 -Powerflex Transmission bushing (@92k) - $40 -Polyurethane lower engine mount bushing (@92k) - $80 -BMP Strut Brace - $200 -Rear Strut Brace - $100 -M7 Lowering Springs (@40k) - $200 -Cross Drilled Rotors (@83k) -Steel Braided front lines (@83k) -XXR006 17x7 – Black Wheels (@86k) - $800 -BFGoodrich KDW Tires (@90k) - $500 -M7 Ram Scoop - $200 -Short Ram K&N -HYDRA Nemesis Stand Alone ECU (@75k) - $2500 -A/F Ratio Gauge -Boost Gauge -Oil Pressure Gauge -Volt Meter Gauge -OPT iPod Connector -OPT AUX Connector Total $13,890 In Extras (Roughly, possibly more) I think thats pretty much the whole list of parts. Why are you selling your daily driver seems kinda odd to me.

Oh god, Id slit my wrists. Do i even want to know why. I just don't see it as a good idea to sell the car you put so much time and money into. Then again, 90% of people don't make sense to me.

i bet r50 insurance #'s are better than a r53. that would be a plus to anyone interested in it.
