I hear that the ECU adapts well but in a different thread I read that people are stupid if they don’t tune for the water/meth injection. I know it is hard to answer "what is a safe boost to run" but... what is a safe boost to run with the meth kit? With out changing the tune how will it make more HP then it does already on a cool day? Sorry for all the questions, but I like learning about MINIs. 2010 MCS - RMW Tune, JCW Stage 1 CAI, Helix FMIC, Akropovic High Flow DP, JCW Mid Pipe, JCW Stage 1 Muffler, 17x7 O.Z. RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
it will help most on hot days
the added octane will help anyways.......... 18psi is safe on the meth You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity "Tuning Matters" minimark Wrote: ....as silent as a freshly fallen snow on a crisp winter morning, a deafening hush falls across the land of Kool-Aid..... |

I live in new england, so I don't plan on running wm in the winter, since it'll b 15-40 degrees F throughout the winter.
Jeff, are you planning on putting together the Q&A for the hfs-3? |

We can start a new Q/A thread if we need to. In the cold temps, the fluid may not evaporate well until the engine is quite hot. We have Canadian customers that if they don't turn the system off or reduce jet size will get odd misfire codes from the fluid blowing the flame out.

Well if the injection is set to spray when IDC is 80% or something relatively high, then one shouldn't be romping on it when the engine is still cold! Lol

RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
it's funny as you look back on everything Jeff and I started about 4years ago with the meth kits. We tested many kits, made logs, ran dyno's, ran road logs and documented how each kit worked. Once we saw the advantages of the AQMist kit we were sold. The atomization of the spray is key. PWM is the other key. You can't get this good a system at a lower price. I hear people all the time who have NEVER won anything or done any real testing except their butt dyno's. As you can see from the RMW BVH thread vs the "other" car you can easily see the difference of components. Cheap is NOT the way to go. Just listen to the 2 cars and you can tell immediately which car is happier.
Some will never learn though, I don't think they are capable of understanding how it works. It is funny however how they are drifting more and more towards things we have done years ago. So maybe there is some hope? Thanks for all the testing and sharing your knowledge . So many of us benefit by getting the correct kit, head, compressor, tune, etc the first time around.

RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
Another update for everyone. I was at the sheet metal house today and they are lagging a few days behind schedule. Before too much grumbling, I'm as upset as everyone else. I want to move these kits as bad as you want them because I have already purchased all the HFS-3's and would like to start billing/shipping. Rest assured, I am kicking them in the ass as much as possible to move them forward. I expect the sheet metal to be complete Monday or Tuesday with two days more to powder coat. I will start breaking all the kits open and making as many modifications as I can to be ready to build the tanks when they arrive.
I apologize to all, I will push forward and keep you informed of any more updates. |
