RE: TVS Final Prototypes
True the C38 will have more mid range, however If i suspect correctly you bought the dog box used and its probably for about a 180 hp car.
meaning its geared all wrong for your power band. but as you insist, you are never wrong. Good luck with that. If it was geared correctly the car would be much faster and easier to drive. “Have you ever noticed how some people never

True... Lower gears are not always better. The higher HP you build the motor to, you are going to want the longer gears, or you will just be in power for a second then bouncing off the limiter... Again and again... Lower gears are also going to place more stress on the axles, hubs, CV joints, pretty much everything after the final drive gears. Gears after all are a torque multiplier.
I barber poled (twisted like a candy cane) the original driveshaft on my old Samurai... With a whole 50 HP to the ground and stock open 3.73 gears in the axles... I put a 6.5:1 transfer case behind the trans though. I locked it into 1 Low without the front hubs locked, dumped the clutch at 4500 RPM, pulled the front end a foot or so off the ground, and then came the noises nobody wants to hear... Gears, not HP DID IT! Sent from 2 cans and a string... Easily agitated, Half way retarded, and mentally unstable... Cant put up with it? SUCK MY RICHARD!! |

Just giving some perspective of what lower gears can do, to the people who think lower is better.

... My dogbox has custom gears ratios.... To work perfectly with the rotrex power band.
Colin if you need more info..Ask me...it has a longer gear , two very close to oem and other three a little shorter. |

Now that there are TWO threads with Colin poking Andrea in the ear with a stick...
Damn this whole system looks awesome! If next year goes well, and the kits are ready, this could make a great summer project... |

TVS Final Prototypes
You don't need a built motor for the TVS... Isn't that the whole point?
It will just be better with a built motor! Sent from 2 cans and a string... Easily agitated, Half way retarded, and mentally unstable... Cant put up with it? SUCK MY RICHARD!! |
