You can pick up a jug like that at a Motorcycle store or dealer. That's what I plan on doing.

RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
Can we store them in Gas tank containers? Is it necessary to have the bleed plug in the back vented? Or would that evaporate all the methonal over time?

I've heard not to. Even if you think the gas container is completely clean, it probably isn't and the meth will pick up contaminants. 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW GP (R53)--GP #1599 -RMW FUNstick Cam, RMW Shorty Header, RMW 450cc inj 2014 MINI Cooper (F56)--Midnight Black |

RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
So we need a methanol safe container i guess huh? (for the record i would love to type methanol without the anol, but on a work computer this probably would not be the best idea if its taken in a different context) lol
Sheesh! Got a quote from a local dealer in CT... 5 gal = $51 (10.20/gal) 50 gal = $275 (5.50/gal) Waiting on a quote from someone else... Some of you are getting it for $3/gal when only buying 5 gal? So jealous. These cars really do like more methanol. The most noticeable thing is that the power is so smooth now. Whereas before in higher gears, when accelerating under load I could feel the car's power decreasing, then the power would come back, then it'll decrease a bit. The yo-yo effect I'm sure a lot of R56 owners know well. With roughly 75/25 meth/water I don't feel any let up at all. It was so fun driving the car hard and seeing what it could take, it didn't disappoint me once.
Here's an example of what I'm seeing on my car. Ambient temps were in the upper 80's and when it sprayed the IATs would drop to the mid 70's. I'm going to stick with this setup for at least a tank and then probably try the 0.8 jet to see if there's any positive difference. Oh and Blake, you'll be happy to hear that I went through about 1/4 gallon of fluid driving to Jeff's shop and back. I predict I'll be refilling the tank again in a few days. RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
We picked up more parts today and will work over the holiday to try to get some more ready. Next up for planned shipping on Tuesday:
Houser BostonR56 HBSean Buli We will be starting the right hand units, so if head scratching turns into a something more, we may need to get parts early next week to complete them, but I'm fairly confident we have enough parts variations in house to make this work. |
