This all makes me afraid to even put a R56 kit in. These cars are so temperamental.

Didn't your steering lock up? Or was that someone else, I didn't look back and ive been mixing everyone up at this point

Nope not me.
My clutch burned up, failing cluch and more power. It was really ugly.

Since the shop cleared the codes that were causing my steering wheel lock to actuate, my car has been fine. Runs really smooth now. I'm guessing that's due to cleaner valves. After this experience though, I'm hoping to avoid any future electrical mods to my R56.

Hey guys, do you think I can reach satisfactory results with a 25% methanol-75% water injection ?

Yes, you are going to see results with pretty much anything.

What results are you looking for? Where are you putting the jet & what size? It looks like you have an R53...they don't have the "self-tuning" abilities that the R56 does, so without a tune you might be throwing the AFR's off a bit. They don't do well with higher water concentrations though, just not enough heat in the combustion chamber to benefit from high water ratios. I know most of the 53 guys run 100% meth, Jeff and Jan included.

RE: Aquamist HFS-3 and MINI Tank GB
Has anyone dynoed or plan to dyno with Aquamist on and Aquamist off to show performance gains if any for this system. I think someone showed an after dyno but I would like to see a before and after dyno (Aquamist on and Aquamist off) with any state of tune be it custom, canned or stock.

It seems like from reading the posts in this thread and the problems that are being reported that this must be a difficult DIY project and I am quessing it is taking between 6-10 hours or more for most DIY installers.

The 53 likes more meth than not. You can try anything, but I'd usually recommend 50/50 or better. The water won't cool the IAT's enough, so the car will still pull timing, even without knock, and too much water will cause misfires due to the average ignition the 53 has.

The biggest gains and results on the 53 have always been with 100% meth.

When Jan comes up to NorCal next I plan on getting tuned for meth and will definitely get a baseline beforehand. Hopefully someone beats me to it though, as I'm very curious myself.
