RE: 05 JCW Engine w/GP intercooler/6 speed
I found one as stated with about 3,000 race miles with a LSD and new race clutch,GP intercooler, JCW 05 owned by and raced (autoX) by delership. Thinking this may be a good base for a build? or core exchange, part out.
new to the forum thanks for the reply!

was not sure where to post, was looking for input on how much it might be worth?

RE: 05 JCW Engine w/GP intercooler/6 speed
why not just use the motor in your car as a core?
how much are they asking for the whole lot.

RE: 05 JCW Engine w/GP intercooler/6 speed
you are not understanding hwo this works
you order the motor from jan
he can send it and then you send yours back
or bring the car here
or have me come do it
or something.
where are you located and what are you looking for in a rebuilt motor?
3k is probably too much but thats just me.
what clutch and diff is in it
thats the real question. and do you really want the short gearbox? Shanne would probably take the long one off your hands.

RE: 05 JCW Engine w/GP intercooler/6 speed
quaf diff clutch not sure racing was all they said 4 months old ,will be finding out more detail soon! thanks for the info on how it works and the feed back. just looking into some mods for car to autox and street. do not have the big bucks to dump into mods right now. trying to do mods myself a little at a time. any suggestion would be cool, thanks would like 300-350 hp working on suspension rigth now and still keep it streetable. going with advanti storm wheels 8x15 et25 at 11 lbs. not sure how much poke or what size spacers i'll need ? coilovers like jrz but just to pricy for what i'll use any suggestion ? if theres a better place to talk or post please let me know, as you see i am new to all this ! first forum i have been on and would rather not piss anyone off

RE: 05 JCW Engine w/GP intercooler/6 speed
Racing clutch is not always ideal to be honest.
Depends on what you want to do with the car.
Just start a build thread, post pictures of your car and we can go from there.
Ill be happy to help and so would many others but lets just go from that thread not this one.
what i can tell you is that a quafe is not ideal for track or autox period. it will cause you to have corner entry understeer and you will suffer because of it.
If you want to just street drive the car then its likely never going to be a problem.
and if you want 300-350 you can guarantee you will not need stock pistons and rods, and the head will be re worked and the cam replaced
so what you have to look at it is that you are buying a block and head maybe a crank as a core and litterally everything else will go in the trash.
I might have a option for you for coilovers but again it depends on what you want.
this is my car, and this would be the area to post in, so lets start there and see what we can get working for you.
Nice to meet you
