RE: Vibratechnics group buy.
It sure is pretty. I had too many parts in nitro storage to get the mounts, but now I wish I had.

RE: Vibratechnics group buy.
I need a set. Just like me to wait until the price goes up. My new clutch brings out the wobble in the stock ones and I don't like it.

This is my mount up top

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...g=22&fg=05

a 2004 built in 9/047

Let me know...what I owe.

Question. Can I replace the trans mount from the top? Just take off the top bracket and then the lower. I forget how it looks and if I will need to lower the engine. I know when I did the clutch I ended up lowering the engine to get it in, but I had left the top part of the trans bracket in place.

RE: Vibratechnics group buy.
You got away lucky, my brother has a 3/04 and his is hydraulic.

The standard mount like mine and yours is considerably cheaper:

Road is £108 vs £150
Comp is £113 vs £157

For all three (torque link, trans and upper engine) you're into about:

220 for the upper mount.
325 for the trans
and 164 for the lower
and 60 dollars for shipping.
Total:769+ shipping for comp.

Trans can be removed from the top, you'll have to get rid of the airbox and ecu and unbolt the fusebox, then support the trans and take out the long centre bolt, I found taking the mount off the bodywork helps too, then take the 4 bolts off of the trans mount and lift it off. There is a bracket to hold the slave cylinder line that will NOT fit on the vibratechnics mount (at least on ours it didn't) so you can run it just loose or cut the bracket.

I saw were you cut the bracket but I thought that was on the top. It looked like the brace from the pass side firewall to me. It will make sense once I line it up I am sure.

I like mine...zero engine movement.

I initially thought the vibration wasn't any different, but lately its been starting to annoy me. I'm thinking though, that a lot of it is due to the powerflex poly bushing I have in the lower mount. Might take it out and see if it helps...

Jan even made a comment about the vibration when my car was on the dyno...

Thanks for the input. I'm on my 2nd OEM upper and really don't like the TSW one but this is a high ticket item so I wanted to get some feedback.

RE: Vibratechnics group buy.
this one is not going to break the strut tower like the tsw will. jan says it was my friends was loose but look at nates, i have seen at least 5 in the immediate area that are all tearing the plug out of the strut tower.
