RE: Vipec pre-order signup! - Mendra72 - 02-24-2012 05:59 PM I might have missed this somewhere - how do we connect to the ECU's? Do they come with some type of com cable? I am assuming one that connects through the factory diag port? RE: Vipec pre-order signup! - Jan - 02-24-2012 06:00 PM USB. TO CAN COMES WITH THE ECU RE: Vipec pre-order signup! - ColinGreene - 02-24-2012 06:20 PM Ask if they will send a spare case for mine? I worry about it sitting in there just boards. RE: Vipec pre-order signup! - HRM - 02-25-2012 06:09 AM I remember opening a computer in a chrysler and it was covered in silicon sealant (that is what it looked like). The only thing I question in heat dissipation, but that was the water proof treatment they got from the factory. I think on the vipec forum someone was asking about a board update, and vipec responded that since he had a marine one, it was covered in sealant. So, you may have a way to waterproof it. I've seen a couple ECU's like that. The other reason they do it is also to keep people from changing the boards to be flashable by putting a epprom on them.
